ABOUT FCVA

We are a church that believes in loving God, living purely, and continuing in the Apostles doctrine as explained in Acts 2:37-42.

This church was founded with the sole purpose of being a real light to a dark world. How can we be different? How can we be the change? What is the point of creating a new path for a vision as old as the Bible?

Modern religion has veered off course in many aspects. We are simply desiring to get back to the truth of God and showing genuine love without adding burdens to people.

Our Approach:

Every day could be the day that we do the impossible. Even through sorrow we can find hope and joy. God is our peace that goes beyond our understanding. Our desire is to be a help to those that need help; to be an avenue of rescue to those that are looking for God.

Our Leadership

Where would we be without leadership? Scattered, hopeless, and with a lack of direction. Who is a leader? We all are on some level. While there are necessary titles for flow of communication and direction. We all have the opportunity to help lead those around us to Christ.

Pastor:

Rev. Jared and Heather Thornhill

We have so many that lead, teach, and encourage. You will be hard pressed to find a more loving group of people.

Core Beliefs

We are striving to be a 21st Century Apostolic Church.  We are founded upon the belief that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21) We believe in the great commission and are endeavoring to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with love, mercy and compassion.

We believe there is only one God (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 9:6; Mark 12:28-29, 32; 1  Corinthians 8:4; Ephesians 4:4-6; 1 Timothy 3:16; James 2:19). He is the creator of heaven and earth, and of all living beings (Genesis 1:1, 2:4; Acts 17:24-28). He has revealed Himself to humanity as the Father (Creator) (Isaiah 9:6; 37:16; 44:24; 48:18), as the Son (Savior) (Matthew 1:21), and as the Holy Spirit (indwelling Spirit) (John 14:26).

We believe in water baptism by immersion in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sin (Acts 2:38-39, 4:12, 18; 8:12, 16, 38-39; 10:48; 19:5; John 17:26; Colossians 3:17; Ephesians 3:14-15; Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 2:12).  Through baptism we identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Romans 6:3-6; Colossians 2:11-14; Mark 16:16).

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial sign of speaking in other tongues (Acts 2:4, 33; 10:44-46; 19:6).

We believe in the manifestation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. He ministers to His people through different kinds of tongues, interpretation of tongues, prophecy, word of knowledge, word of wisdom, discerning of spirits, faith, working of miracles, and gifts of healings (Mark 16:15-18; Acts 5:16; 1 Corinthians 12:1-11; Hebrews 2: 3-4; 14-18).
